Bonnie Brae is a quiet neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, located roughly five miles and a little over ten minutes southeast of Denver’s downtown. It’s a residential area with some shops and restaurants on its northwest side. You’ll find plenty of single-family homes here that are single- and double-story. There are multiple bus stops around to help you get around.
 
Bonnie Brae is filled with tall trees and quiet, walkable streets. Its suburban layout provides a contrast to busy city life. At the center of Bonnie Brae is Bonnie Brae Park. On the northwest side of the neighborhood is South University Boulevard, home to multiple shops and restaurants. Just west of Bonnie Brae is the large Washington Park. The Denver Country Club is just northwest of Bonnie Brae. The Cherry Creek Shopping Center and the Cherry Creek area are not far to the north of Bonnie Brae. Only two and a half miles north and roughly 7 minutes from Bonnie Brae is the Denver Botanical Gardens.

On the northwest side of Bonnie Brae, you’ll find the award-winning Bonnie Brae Ice Cream. It’s a retro-style ice cream parlor with a wide range of fun ice cream flavors. For a great selection of alcohol, there’s Bonnie Brae Liquor, located next to Bonnie Brae Ice Cream. It has a convenience store-like appearance and plenty of options. The Saucy Noodle is an established Italian restaurant with the catchphrase “If you don’t like garlic, go home!”. It features a bevy of Italian foods such as pizza and spaghetti.
 
Ink! Coffee Bonnie Brae features indoor and outdoor seating, as well as catering. They also serve breakfast and lunch. It’s a great place to drop by for those mornings when you just want to go back to bed. Katherine’s French Bakery & Café offers delicious food while giving the customer the option of dining in or doing take-out. They also offer catering.
 

Things to Do

There are plenty of great places to take a peaceful walk in Bonnie Brae. Friends can meet at Bonnie Brae Park at the center of the neighborhood. Residents can also visit the nearby Washington Park, which offers various paths as well as athletic fields.
 
With its proximity to downtown Denver and all the amenities that come with it, it is not likely that residents will run out of activities to do. Residents can take part in a shopping trip to the bustling Cherry Creek Shopping Center, located just north of Bonnie Brae. Also, nearby Cherry Creek allows for a peaceful creekside stroll in a serene environment. The path stretches through a good part of the city, connecting with multiple parks along the way. The Denver Botanical Gardens are a short drive away and offer visitors the chance to explore beautiful gardens. Visitors to the gardens can also experience different events and exhibits.
