Downtown Denver, Colorado, is an urban area with lots of businesses. To Downtown Denver’s west is the CanAm Highway and to its north is the famed
Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies baseball team. East of Downtown Denver is the
City Park. Just south is West Colfax Avenue. The 20th Street/Welton Station helps connect people to other parts of the city via a light-rail train. Southeast of Downtown Denver is the
Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Downtown Denver is filled with towering skyscrapers and lots going on. You’ll find several condominiums throughout the downtown area, offering a unique experience of downtown city living. There’s no shortage of things to do downtown. While Downtown Denver is decidedly urban, there are some excellent parks to help people get closer to nature. Nearby is
Confluence Park, with places to walk, bike, or even kayak. Residents can take a trip to the large City Park not far from Downtown Denver. It also features the
City Park Golf Course, an 18-hole course. Both the
16th Street Mall and
Larimer Square feature great places to shop and eat. Cherry Creek runs on the outside of Downtown Denver and even features a walking path alongside it. Also, you won’t have to go far to visit one of the great museums around Downtown Denver.

There’s no need to travel into the city for a night on the town. Residents don’t have to look hard or go far to find fun things to do.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
The
16th Street Mall, a mile-long outdoor and pedestrian-friendly mall, has excellent places to shop and eat. For food in a formal setting, there’s
The Capital Grille. In it, you’ll find a beautifully designed restaurant with steaks, seafood, and more. The award-winning
Tamayo restaurant offers modern Mexican food. Another excellent Mexican restaurant is
La Loma. It has been around for decades, and with its great food, little wonder why. Finally, the
Chophouse and Brewery offer a laidback atmosphere plus a great selection of food.
Things to Do
Living in Downtown Denver means you’ll almost always have something to do. Residents can catch a Colorado Rockies baseball game at
Coors Field. The downtown neighborhood of Union Station has a lot going on. In it, you’ll find restaurants and the Contemporary Art Museum of Denver. Near the 16th Street Mall and located in Union Station is
Larimer Square, a historic area with lots of places for food, shopping, and entertainment.
Locals can take in standup comedy at the
Comedy Works or do some shopping at one of the many stores found there. Not far to the east of downtown is the
Denver Zoo. It offers events for children and adults, plus plenty of animals to see up close. People can take a relaxing walk on one of the many paths at the
City Park not far from Downtown Denver.
